This is a special kids edition about traveling to Barcelona with toddlers. Please check our previous guidelines for more information on sightseeing and itinerary.

Tibidabo Amusement Park and Panoramic Area

There are tons of things to do with kids in Barcelona, but one place that you can’t miss is Tibidabo Amusement Park. It is located at the highest point of the city. This is the perfect solution for a family vacation too. Kids love that they can have fun all day long and parents can admire the magnificent landscape of the city centre below. It is also suitable for children of all ages.

How do you get to Tibidabo Amusement Park?

From Catalunya Square, take orange line S1 or green line S2 to the stop called Peu del Funicular. Then hop on the tiny cable car, in three minutes it will get you on the top. From there you take a bus 111 directly to Tibidabo Amusement Park. The whole way takes you around 40 minutes.

How much does it cost to go to Tibidabo?

The entrance costs €28.50 for an adult and €10.30 for kids with the height less than 120 cm. The panoramic view will cost you almost twice less, €12.70 for an adult and €7.80 for kids not exceeding 120 cm. Check the prices here.

When does Tibidabo open?

The working hours are from 11 am to 6 pm, and the park closes at 8 pm on weekends.

How much time do you need in Tibidabo?

It is absolutely up to you. You can easily spend the whole day there enjoying all the fun and landscape views, but at least you need an hour. You can also start early and then visit the Science Museum and Maze park that are located near Tibidabo.

The Science Museum Cosmocaixa

Another good option to visit Barcelona with toddlers is to go to the science museum. It is located near the Tibidabo Park, but it is a bit tricky to get there. The easiest way is by foot, it will take you one hour walk through the park. The easiest option is to take a 15-minutes’ drive down the hill.

This science museum has everything to educate your children. Different halls showcase planets, ancient worlds, fossils and dinosaurs, but what’s really cool about it is that the museum has numerous activities and exhibitions that you can participate in playing with your creativity, mirrors, 3D printing and so much more.

More information about the museum here.

Maze Park (Parc del Laberint d’Horta)

The Parc del Laberint d’Horta is a historical garden in the Horta-Guinardó district in Barcelona and the oldest of its kind in the city.

From the top, it looks like a maze square. I have tried maze only once and was quite interested to repeat my experience. It is a lot of fun for kids, you can have a picnic there and just take the rest.

Barcelona With Kids: Fantastic Family Walking Tour

This is an interactive tour specially designed for children aged 4-12. It lasts 2.5 hours, so your kids do not get tired. It is an itinerary filled with adventure and activities that include stories, games, and songs connected to the city.

They will get to explore the legends of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter and visit the House of The Giants. The coolest feature is to visit traditional workshops and trendy candy stores.

The Barcelona Zoo

For the zoo fans, Barcelona offers one right in the city centre. The Barcelona Zoo is one of the most beautiful and ancient zoos in Spain. There are more than 4,300 animals to see. Also, they offer the dolphin show!

You can have a picnic there and enjoy some rest while your kids are playing at the playground.

It is located in Ciutadella Park, right opposite the Barceloneta Beach. So, the perfect day to send in Barcelona with toddlers is to combine the beach, park and zoo.

This area has a lot to offer, including the Picasso museum and other beaches.

The Barcelona Aquarium

The Aquarium is located near Mirador Colom and can be visited on your way to Barceloneta Beach. There is also a huge shopping mall with restaurants and cafes on the roof top, and an amazing walking path with nice views.

The Barcelona Aquarium offers more than 11,000 species.

Water Parks In Barcelona With Toddlers

There are also quite a few options of water parks when visiting Barcelona with toddlers. It is a perfect solution for one of the sunny days. Choose the one below.

Illa Fantasia Water Park

This water park is only 20 minutes’ drive from Plaça Catalunya. Also, you can take a bus C-3/4 that will take you to the Illa Fantasia.

Illa Fantasia water park is suitable for all ages, even when you travel to Barcelona with a baby. It offers loads of slides, including a wave pool, water games, rapids and a pirate-themed maze.

Marineland Dolphinarium and Water Park

This water park is the coolest one in Barcelona. Apart from numerous slides and splash pools for kids, it also has special shows featuring dolphins and exotic birds.

The only downside is the location. It is located further than Illa Fantasia, and to get there you should consider a car or taxi. It is approximately 50 minutes’ drive, but an unforgettable experience for the entire family is guaranteed!

Aqualeon Water Park and Safari

Aqualeon is located on the other side from the other two water parks. Similar to Marineland, you won’t be able to get to Aqualeon by public transport. It is a one-hour drive.

But it all makes sense when you read that Aqualeon Water Park also offers bus safari tours observing lions, tigers, and bears. The Water Park has real giant slides and tunnels with various pools. What can you wish for better for your child!

Barca Football

If your children are into football, it would be very exciting to take them to one of the soccer games, as they are very safe for people of all ages! The stadium is huge but tickets get sold out fast. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance!

Alternatively, if the matches start too late for your kids to attend, you can always take them for a tour of Camp Nou – tours are offered during the day and there are no crowds of football fans to deal with!
