“Toy” in the name speaks for itself. First of all, it is hard to get a professional high-end baby riding toy simply because of the age. The child at the age of one barely can walk, and only will learn that much, such as pushing, walking, strolling (not even steering!).

In my opinion, these two things are incomparable.

A push trike is a tool that can help your child to get a feel for a bike, start pushing and pedaling, build strength. A toddler tricycle with a push handle is convenient for parents as you can easily stroll your child back home.

A balance bike is your child’s first vehicle that teaches him balance and coordination in the most natural way possible. As a parent, you don’t need to do anything but let your baby find his own way first pushing and walking, then running, and finally gliding the balance bike.

There is no better option, there are different sets of goals that you are pursuing. Ideally, we suggest getting both depending on your budget and stroller arrangements.

What age is good for push tricycles?

Push tricycles and riding toys for babies can be used as early as six months depending on your child’s overall development. However, the usual practice is to use riding baby toys when your child starts to walk or is learning how to walk, so at the age of one and above.

Tricycles that do not have a push handle are more complicated and meant to be pushed by your child. So, the best tricycles for toddlers are designed from the age of two.

Little Tikes have their own unique features comparing to other push tricycles but this model comes at a price. It offers three different colors, provides you with an extra parent console, and huge rear storage. Although it is quite spacious, it doesn’t have a lid which may be inconvenient and gives you a chance to lose one or two toys during the ride.

This bike is well-made for early-stage toddlers, as it has very well-built protection, such as a footrest and a wrap-around tray with extra space for bottles and snacks.
