Pink’s empowering speech made me confess [watch a video] | Parenthood4ever

“A human being is a single being. Unique and unrepeatable.” /Eileen Caddy/

Entering a living room after putting our little baby for his first short “siesta”, I came to my hubby and gave him a gentle hug. He was watching his Facebook or Instagram. But this time the singer Pink caught my attention. Back in the days, I was a huge fan of hers. So, I was interested to watch what she had to say. Thought it was just a “thank you” speech as she held a trophy.
But no…
It touched me, I shed my tear, and it inspired me on leaving the house to the nearest cafeteria to get one hour of “no-family-bothering-me-writing-peace”.

“We don’t change. We take the gravel in a shell and we make pearl. And we help other people to change so that they can see more kinds of beauty.” /P!nk/

No more words needed, aren’t they?
Perhaps, this is what missing.
Raising my little cub and finally being able to announce proudly that I am a mother, I can’t imagine any little or big humans on the planet Earth are able to even think that they are ugly. Coming to the fact that I had the luxury to observe the whole growth and development of my baby in detail, I must make a statement:

  • No one else would be able to fight for his life like he did: growing from a ball of 16 cells traveling to the uterus to a size of a jackfruit formed into a real human.
  • No one else would have so much will and strength to survive the very second he appeared in this world.

First, learning to breathe, considering the fact that you have got very limited time to grab this trick; Second, learning to suck. That I consider is one of the hardest by far. Train your body and every muscle to do the job you have never done before, latch properly, suck enough to be fed. All this happens while you have got biggest stress in your life, changing the environment and not knowing where you are. Not much time you have got to master this trick either; Then, constant pain in your belly, known as colics. Of course, now you have to produce something that shall leave your body on a regular basis.

Isn’t it enough to feel special yet?
Consider this then. In just one year’s time, you have to understand how to roll over, crawl, sit, clap, pull yourself up, stand, walk, eat human food, balance, coordinate, talk, communicate with the world – LIVE. But you do it your way, and this what makes you so unique to finally be able to bring something super cool to our planet and to us. You are a precious part not only to this world, but to our human community. So, what’s the point to be unsatisfied with yourself, rather than let us learn from you something we don’t have yet.

Every baby is better we. Hug them, kiss them, stroke them. And always let them feel special as, because they are!

“I believe a unique core self is born into every human being; the result of millennia of environment and heredity combined in an unpredictable way that could never happen before or again.” /Gloria Stienem/

Thank you for being your true selves. Keep doing it. Keep shining for the rest of us to see.

Dedicated to us all! … and my little Teo, whose uniqueness and beauty change the lives of others every single day.
