What is a stand-and-sit stroller?

The best sit-and-stand strollers are the ones that have a toddler seat with a rear bench and a standing platform for the older child in the back. Lots of well-known stroller brands took it further featuring an additional second seat for the second child, up to two infant car seats that can be attached to a stroller at the same time, and more interesting solutions making it an in-line or tandem stroller.

Basically, reading today’s article you may find the perfect stroller that can serve you as the whole travel system and still be very light.

What is the difference between double strollers and sit-n-stand strollers?

Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite Sit-and-Stand Stroller

Joovy Caboose gains first positions on the market providing one of the best solutions specifically for sit-and-stand double strollers. It is also the lightest sit and stand stroller weighing only 22 lbs (9.97 kg). As for a tandem, Joovy Caboose is barely larger than a single stroller.

So, what is so good about it? There is a stroller seat on the front and a special toddler seat on the back. Your older child can choose whether he wants to sit on a bench, stand on a platform, or walk with you. It is super easy and accessible.

On a personal note, the canopy design was very well-thought-through. Instead of coming up with a complicated system, Joovy Caboose Ultralight sit-and-stand stroller features one large canopy for the front seat and a second cover/ shield for the back seat. This cover can be easily detached and stored in a parent console, where you have space for two drinks and your personal belongings, such as a cell phone or purse.

Note: Never allow a rear seated child to use the canopy as a handhold

One of the best features of sit-and-stand Joovy Caboose is that it includes a universal car seat adapter that is compatible with the majority of infant car seat brands, such as Baby Trend, Britax, Baby Jogger, Chicco, Cosco, Cybex, Evenflo, Graco, Maxi Cosi, Nuna, Peg Perego, Safety 1st, UPPAbaby and much more. Check the most recent list here.

Price-wise, Joovy double stroller sit-and-stand is an exceptionally affordable product of excellent quality.

Also, additional accessories for Joovy Caboose Ultralight are available, such as

Joovy Caboose Rear Seat (comes in six different colors)

Your child can stand on the platform or sit in a rear seat. You can also accommodate a separate toddler seat on the back for more comfort.

As the best sit-and-stand double stroller, Baby Trend went further featuring not one but two infant car seats that you can accommodate both in front and back. The stand-and-sit stroller is compatible with all Baby Trend infant car seat brands to create a travel system. It is also compatible with the majority of other infant car seat brands (in case you already have one), such as Baby Jogger, Combi, Graco, Evenflo, Safety 1st, and more. Graco Modes Duo Stroller

Graco brand is one of my favorites when talking about infant car seats and travel systems. Simply because they have got all the bits and details every family needs.

Graco Modes Duo Stroller is one of the best strollers for twins or two children with a close age gap. This is also one of the best double strollers made for travel.

The reason we put it in this list is that apart from being an excellent tandem stroller, it has a built-in standing platform and a bench seat. Two toddler seats are completely removable and reclining, so there is no problem to replace them both with infant car seats or create one of the 27 riding options at your convenience. In the end, this is the stroller you can use every day. Even better news that this stroller is very affordable compared to its competitors!

Baby Jogger City Select LUX Stroller

Baby Jogger City Select LUX Stroller is a very interesting choice. It has thought of it all including 20 ways to ride. Personally, my favorite position is when both seats are turned to each other, so siblings can interact with one another.

It is compatible with an infant car seat, you can add the second stroller seat, a glider board, a bassinet and build your stroller set as much as you want. It also converts from a single to a double stroller, but let’s say, it is more of a luxurious option compared to Joovy, Baby Trend, or Graco sit-n-stand strollers that feature a rear seat bench and a standing platform.

You will need to purchase all additional accessories separately.
